We started this because of the state of broadband here during the pandemic. DSL is slow, and satellite is expensive (and has a waitlist.)
Construction has started for federally-funded fiber optics, but only for about 15% of The Point. Worse, it involves expensive underground trenching, and may not reach its full potential without a submarine cable to connect to the mainland.
We aim to be a competitive alternative. Our goals are to reach all of Point Roberts with high-speed broadband at a fraction of the cost of fiber optics or satellite.
